For The Kids ( 3ashan el A6fal)

Today ... i went back to the police station, to follow up on my little hit and run.
to my surprise, or not, there was not record of my accident. it would seem like the whole thing never happened. My whole adventure on Friday, the trip i took so that my kids dont get to suffer of an alleged power outage, the keema naans that i had, the whole thing had not record, except in my brain, and on this blog's last night's post. I found myslef really asking myself, what we do for our kids, really really really, Aish Thanb El A6fal!!

of course, or as some of my old danish colleagues liked to write "of cause", no one really knew anything about my accident or the fact that there is a guy out there that fled what i had thought to be a crime scene. Isnt a Hit and Run a crime? HAR should be a crime!! for the same of the children it should be, and ppl like this guy, his name turned out to be Mahbub (indian) should be punished for not respecting the law, and for taking responsibility for their actions. Thankfully, i found a guy that was ready to help me. He looked and searched but could not find any records. One of the people there suggested i come back at 10pm when the guy that wrote up the incident is back on duty. I pretended he didnt say that.

What do you think happened to those Filipinos that needed a ride from the airport yesterday? did they get a ride? should i have gone to pick them up?

So Mr. Policeman calls the owner of the car who is a Srilankan (Ceyloni) young man with a name that consisted of at least thirteen letters and he promised to come to the station. It took him three hours to get there. By that time i had left and Mr. Policeman that was helping me was also gone. I finally manage to go back to the police station to find that this guy has brought his mother with him. Aish Thanbha Umak? with all this talk about the roads being closed i was hoping i wont get stuck somewhere in between. This was the guy that owned the car, and his mother was there to try to solve the problem. She spoke fluent arabic (in the hindi way) inta fe shoof mafi shoof shurta fi jinjal ama sallah siyara. Most of the time, i felt they were really genuine, but why were they protecting this guy? why did they not bring him? or bring the car that was involved in the accident? they were keen to get the issue closed, but i wasnt going to let the whole thing go so easily. At the end of the day ... Aish Thanb ela6fal? this woman was there for her son and she was prepared to do what was needed. She was ready to give me her Resident Card but would not let him give me his. She was ready to do what it takes.

I insist that we let the police handle the situation. I also had to face the facts that there was no record of my accident or anything. The policeman at the reception was really indifferent to whole issue. He didnt seem to show any interest in helping or solving the issue. We then move onto the "Accident Department" the guy there was more helpful, but i had to start explaining the story all over again. For the Fifth time today. He too was not interested in bringing the guy who ran away to justice. is it not a crime?

THE GUY LOOKED ME IN THE EYES AND RAN AWAY GODANGIT !!!

New Mr. Policeman was more interested in me fixing my car than i was. Finally they agreed to fix my car, and Mr. Policeman promised to bring the fugitive to justice ... will it ever happen? am i in a position to follow up? the little srilankan dude is supposed to come with me to garage and pay for the repair work tomorrow. Will he show up? will he pay? its all up the air at the moment. I am really disappointed in the way the whole thing went down as i am trying to be civil about the whole Hit and Run issue. It would seem that people are routinely getting away with HARs. I really hope that the guy gets called in by the police and he should pay fine or go to trial or something. Is there a law on this? is it online somewhere? BC i am going to need your expert opinion on this.. please? 3ashan ela6fal !

On a separate note, my anemic Xmaid is still haunting me. I am not able to "register" my new maid at the ROP because the old maid has not be properly removed from my sponsorship. I have to go back the Maid Office and get "naqal kafala" as they call it and give it to this other office that are making sure the new one is legal.
